COLCA BIKE tour

Skill level: hard/ expert / acclimatized

Day 1

We start in your hotel and 4 hours in our 4WD vehicle, we drive up towards to Pampas Cañahuas vicugnas national reservation. We start our down hill in the hiest point of the Andean roud the pass of Patapampa (4900m) from here is possible to observe the volcanic chain (Cordillera Volcanica) here we can see Ubinas, Pichu Pichu, Misti, Chachani, Ampato, Sabancaya, Walca Walca and Mismi Volcanoes ad mountains, we leave the car to meet this one again more than 1000 m. down at the capital of Colca Chivay here we have lunch and then continues in our bikes on a dirt road on the left side of the Colca canyon, between ancient terraces and beautiful. Finally we will arrive at Pinchollo village; after 5 hours biking, dinner and sleep in a very cousin dormitory. (Is also possible to sleep in a nice hotel depending of the elected program and experience).

Day 2

We have a early breakfast and we continues in our bikes for one hour at this point tourist cars are with us to avoid the dust we take our own car and after few minutes we are in the Cruz del Condor here we stay for about an hour to appreciate the fly of the Condor, and then we start a very impressive downhill mountain bike to Cabanaconde after one hour we have lunch and visit the village. After we drive couple of hours we appreciate the West face of the volcanoes we saw one day before from the east face, Ampato Sabancaya and Walka Walka even the farest Coropuna and a little volcanoes valley. From this point we ride our bikes all the way down from 4,600 to the Atacama Desert, descending 3,000m from the kilometer 46 to the kilometer 0 and we take again our car at Pan-American Highway and 2 hours more drive to Arequipa arriving at 19.00h to the city.
